Gluten-Free Maple Bourbon Cake Brownies


Makes approximately 12 servings

Prep time:  15 minutes
Bake time:  25-30 minutes
Total time:  40-45 minutes

1 16oz package gluten-free chocolate cake mix {Bob’s Red Mill makes a great one}
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup Brown Jug Bourbon Cream
2/3 cup boiling water

1/2 cup grass-fed organic butter, softened
2 cups organic powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 cup Brown Jug Bourbon Cream


1) Preheat oven to 350.  Grease a 9×3 inch pan with coconut oil or butter.
2) Pour cake mix in a large bowl.  Make a well in center and pour eggs, bourbon cream and oil in the well.  Stir until well-combined and then add boiling water; mix until just incorporated.
3) Pour batter in to pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
4) While brownies are baking prepare frosting by beating all ingredients together in a bowl until light and fluffy.
5) Once brownies are done move to wire rack and cool completely before frosting.
